Sustainability
On-demand valeting isn't just more convenient — when done right, it's significantly better for the environment. Here's how we're doing it right.

Our approach
Traditional car washes are built around infrastructure — fixed locations, heavy water systems, energy-hungry drying equipment. Customers drive to them, creating extra emissions, and the facilities themselves consume vast amounts of water and power.
Unwhu flips this model. We send one trained valeter to wherever your car already is. No extra journey. No permanent facility running in the background. No high-pressure hoses. Just skilled hands, responsible products, and minimal resource use.
It's a structural advantage — not a marketing claim. On-demand valeting, at scale, is a materially more sustainable way to maintain vehicles.
Six concrete areas where we're actively reducing our environmental footprint — not just talking about it.
Traditional car washing consumes between 100–200 litres of water per vehicle. Our on-demand valeters use waterless and low-water cleaning methods as standard, cutting that figure to under 2 litres per service. No hoses, no runoff, no waste.
Every cleaning product used by Unwhu valeters is biodegradable, pH-neutral, and free from harmful solvents. We've partnered with certified suppliers to ensure our product line is both effective and environmentally responsible.
Because we bring the service to where your vehicle already is, we eliminate the unnecessary journey to a car wash facility. We're also actively transitioning our valeter fleet toward electric and hybrid vehicles as part of our Vision 2030 plan.
Used cloths, applicators, and packaging are collected and processed through certified waste handling partners. Nothing from an Unwhu service ends up in landfill by default — we're working toward a fully circular waste model.
We're building tools within our platform to calculate and display the estimated carbon footprint of each booking. Customers will be able to see the environmental impact of their service — and offset it — directly from the app.
Our internal operations — from office energy use to platform infrastructure — are being audited and transitioned to renewable sources. By 2030, we aim for Unwhu to be a net-zero business across every layer of its operation.
Your impact
When you choose Unwhu, you're not just getting a cleaner car — you're choosing a service that uses a fraction of the water, none of the chemical runoff, and none of the wasted journeys of a traditional car wash.
We're building tools to show you the estimated water and carbon savings from each booking directly in the app. Transparency isn't optional for us — it's how we hold ourselves to account.
The more bookings we fulfil sustainably, the bigger our collective impact. You're part of that.
Products
We've partnered with certified eco-product suppliers to ensure that every product used across the Unwhu valeter network is biodegradable, free from phosphates, and not tested on animals.
By 2027, we're committed to eliminating all single-use plastics from our supply chain — including product bottles, applicator packaging, and any consumables issued to valeters. We're working with suppliers now to make that transition happen ahead of schedule.

Cruelty-free certified across all product lines
Zero single-use plastics in supply chain by 2027
Our roadmap runs to 2040 — not because we want to defer action, but because building something genuinely sustainable takes time, honesty, and a willingness to be held accountable.
We've set out practical, phased commitments across four periods. No vague pledges. Just clear actions we intend to take, publicly stated, as the business grows.
Roadmap
We believe sustainability should improve how services are delivered, not limit access to them. As Unwhu grows, we are committed to reducing environmental impact through practical, measurable actions that scale with our business.
